improve the safety of mineworkers.Lack of visibility is rarely
reported as the direct cause of an accident, but can often
be a signi!cant contributory factor. There is little

Bata Industrials has worked closely with diversified technology company 3M to establish the correct material
that is used on the gumboots.
The reflective application presents the opportunity to brand gumboots with a mine or division name, or a safety logo. This innovation, an industry first, has been secured by design and patent applications.
Bata Industrials gumboots are manufactured to the specifications of SANS 1320-1. All gumboots now feature the reflective material as well as removable and replaceable EVA inner as standard issue.
